Is Paul “Jesus” Monroe Being Cast for Season 6 of ‘The Walking Dead’?

One of the most anticipated castings of Season 6 comes in the form of a comic book character that shares a stark resemblance to a popular religious figure. Since the introduction of the Alexandria Safe Zone in Season 5, and the set photos revealing The Hilltop, fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Paul “Jesus” Monroe.

In a casting call that was released a few weeks ago, the description sounds pretty similar to what we know about comic book Jesus. The casting comes as rumors of The Hilltop’s introduction during the back-end of Season 6 have been circling. Check out the full description of the character below:

[JASON] Late 20s-30s, CAUCASIAN / LATINO. Smart, friendly, and charming with a puckish sense of humor. He can be a thief, but he’ll only steal half of what you have, and only if he knows it won’t cause any permanent damage. He’s generally a benevolent guy — pretty much making friends with everyone he meets. RECURRING GUEST STAR W/ SERIES OPTION FOR SUBSEQUENT SEASONS (7/16). ARTIST MUST BE AVAILABLE 8/22-11/19.

Sounds pretty dead-on accurate. Most of us know Jesus to be the lovable ninja who resides in The Hilltop community. He first appears in Issue 91 of The Walking Dead comics after stumbling upon the Alexandria Safe Zone.

Do you think the casting call is for Jesus? If so, are you stoked to see him in the series so soon, or were you hoping for him to make an introduction at a later time? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments section below!
