The titles and synopsis for the next two episodes of The Walking Dead have been released. What do they tell us about what to expect in the coming weeks?
Episode 4 is titled, “Service”. The official synopsis for the episode reads: “The remaining members of the group try to keep it together in Alexandria; they receive a sobering visit.”
This is the episode fans have been waiting for since the Season 7 premiere. We will finally return to Rick and the group after the deaths of Glenn and Abraham. We’ll likely learn how our group is dealing with the deaths, as well as Negan’s new world order. The “sobering visit” definitely refers to Negan’s first official visit to Alexandria. In the comics, Negan shows up earlier than expected, catching the people of Alexandria completely off guard. The title “Service” likely refers to Rick’s new role as “servant” for Negan and The Saviors.
What’s more, it’s also been announced that Episode 4 will run 85-minutes in length, 15 minutes longer than a traditional episode. Does this mean more commercials? Probably – but we never complain about more The Walking Dead footage.
Episode 5 is titled, “Go Getters”. The synopsis reads: “Saddled with grief and surrounded by enemies, members of the group try to find safety at the Hilltop before it’s too late.”
Will some of Rick’s group join Maggie and Sasha at The Hilltop? This will be the first time we see Maggie and Sasha since the deaths of their beaus in the Season 7 premiere. What’s unclear from the synopsis is whether Maggie’s unborn child will survive the traumatizing events from Episode 1. How will Gregory, the leader of The Hilltop, and Jesus respond to Negan’s brutality? Will they help Rick and group survive? We want to hear your thoughts in the comments section below!
