Straight Outta Compton star and recent newcomer to AMC’s The Walking Dead, Corey Hawkins, landed a new role as the male lead in 24: Legacy, Fox’s reboot of the 24 franchise. Hawkins will play Eric Carter, a former Army Ranger who finds himself pulled back into action as his past comes looking for him. Unlike the original 24, the show will not feature Keifer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer. Sutherland is not reprising his role and is not creatively involved in the project at this time.
So what could this mean for Hawkin’s Heath on The Walking Dead. While Hawkins was only cast as a recurring character on The Walking Dead, can the actor juggle two gigs as one time, or might Heath meet his untimely death in the latter half of Season 6?
The good news (for The Walking Dead fans) is that Fox has thus far only ordered a pilot of 24: Legacy, which means it might not even get green lighted as a series. Hawkins, as well as Heath, sound safe for now, but only time will tell.
