Unless you’ve been living under a rock, it should come as no surprise that recent photos released from the set of The Walking Dead suggest a major comic book character will be making an appearance at some point in Season 6. It was speculated a few weeks ago that Paul “Jesus” Monroe would be cast in Season 6 after a call was released for an actor that fit his description.
Early this week, Jesus was reportedly seen on set interacting in a scene with Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln). Now, The Spoiling Dead Fans and ET Online have released photos of an unknown actor that is dressed exactly like Jesus from the comic book series.
But the big question remains – who is the mystery actor responsible for portraying Jesus on The Walking Dead television series? While no official name has been released, we have our theories regarding the actor pictured above. There have been rumors circulating online that British actor Tom Payne will assume the role. Asides from bare bone speculations, there are also a number of clues that aid in the legitimacy of the story.
Recent Instagram Following
While it’s not completely full proof, it is a bit telling that Payne recently started following the official AMC The Walking Dead Instagram account. Additionally, he also started following fan favorite Norman Reedus. This would make sense, as recent news suggested Jesus’ first interactions on the show would involve Daryl Dixon and Rick Grimes.
Profiles Don’t Lie
While its hard to determine the identity of the man just by looking at the photo, Payne shares some starkly similar features to the mystery Jesus. Most notably, the nose. Both men appear to have rather small, pointed noses.
What is most evident to nearly everyone that has viewed the photos is that Jesus’ actor is rather short. Tom Payne stands at a small 5′ 7″. Comparatively speaking, Norman Reedus, who is visibly taller than Jesus in the photo, stands at 5′ 10″.
Do you think the man in the photo in Tom Payne? If not, which actor do you believe will play Jesus on Season 6 of The Walking Dead? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments section below.
