As if there wasn’t enough anticipation for the premiere of Fear The Walking Dead already, AMC released the titles and synopsis for Episode 1 and 2 of the new zombie drama scheduled to premiere in August.
Episode 101: Pilot
“A highly dysfunctional blended family is forced together when they realize a reported virus is actually the onset of the undead apocalypse.”
Episode 102: So Close, Yet So Far
“While Madison struggles to keep Nick from crippling withdrawal, Travis ventures out to find his son before the city of Los Angeles falls.”
While the show is dubbed as a “companion series” of the original mothership show The Walking Dead, and is also said to take place prior to those events (while Rick is in his coma), Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd says “it is not a prequel.” In an interview during San Diego Comic Con, Hurd stated, “It takes place prior to when The Walking Dead begins, but it’s not a prequel setting up the characters of The Walking Dead.”
We don’t really care what they call it – spinoff, companion series, prequel. We just want August to be here already.
