As if we didn’t already know, The Walking Dead companion series, set to debut in late summer 2015, has officially received a name. The name of the series will be called ‘Fear The Walking Dead‘, which is an obvious spin on the mothership show’s name. Robert Kirkman made the official announcement via Twitter on March 27th.
IT’S OFFICIAL! The walking dead companion show on AMC is called FEAR THE WALKING DEAD! Expect more news very soon! #FearTheWalkingDead

The title has been floating around for a number of months after a portion of the script was leaked online but nothing was ever made official. The Walking Dead and AMC tried to play it off, and it was assumed to be a working title for the show, or the name for the pilot episode.
The title announcement comes only a few weeks after it was stated that the companion series was signed by AMC and received a two season order – the first season set to air in late summer 2015, and the second season to air in 2016.
Do you like the title ‘Fear The Walking Dead’, or would you have preferred something that differentiated the series from the mothership show? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments section below!
