The Hollywood Reporter announced today that Alanna Masterson (Tara), Christian Serratos (Rosita) and Andrew J. West (Gareth) will be promoted to series regulars for Season 5 of The Walking Dead.
This comes as great news to many fans, as Tara has quickly gained much fanfare from enthusiasts of the show. And seeing that Rosita is the female equivalent to Daryl Dixon – the guys aren’t complaining much either.
This is especially important news for recently introduced West, who plays Terminus leader Gareth, as he will reprise his role in at least the first half of Season 5. This means that there will not be a quick resolution to the Terminus conflict.
Regarding Gareth, Robert Kirkman had this to say:
“Seeing Gareth and Rick and the people of Terminus and our survivors go head-to-head is going to be interesting. There is a very deep, dark and storied history to Terminus and how these people came to be that will be revealed in season five.”
Their promotions come nearly a year after The Walking Dead promoted Chad L. Coleman (Tyreese), Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha) and Emily Kinney (Beth Greene) to regulars for season four. This season, the series also added Cudlitz (Abraham Ford) and McDermitt (Eugene Porter) as well as Lawrence Gilliard Jr. (Bob Stookey) as regulars.
Is October here yet? Are you excited the Terminus storyline will be developed more in Season 5, or would you rather a quick resolution? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments section below!
